A Change in Direction

March 17th, 2009

Due to a massive lack of participating going on with the main 14m application and the upkeep/headaches/overhead it requires to keep it running, I’ve made the decision to take it down.  Too bad, really.  I liked the concept, but the community was unsustainable.  Only approximately 1% of the live traffic actually did anything to participate in the system.

So, I’m kind of up in the air about what to mold the site into.  I have a plan, but I feel like I could make it happen no matter what, regardless of what else I do.  Anyone have any thoughts?

Just checked in on you…Yeah, it’s hard to get people to stick around. I don’t have any specific ideas, but if you can 1. Figure out something that someone else isn’t doing and/or 2. Create your own content. I think that good videos in particular are lacking. Not competition videos, but something with informational or entertainment value. You might also find something more universal to bring in a more diverse group of users.

    Good luck!

I like the rules quiz, but it seems never-ending. It would be nice if it had a “This is your score so far” indicator, and a “this many questions to go” indicator, and a way to tell the *correct* answer to the last question, not just what other people have said.
